Which models have a belt/chain?
All Prius cars with the 1.5L and 1.8L engines have timing chains. The 1.8 L engine has an increased torque and features an electric water pump which gets rid of the need for accessory belts and also helps improve the car's MPG. This engine also features lighter parts compared to the 1.5 L. The 1.8 L generates around 20 hp more than the 1.5 L.
The Prius is a super ultra low emission vehicle and the body too is made from plastics obtained from biomass such as kenaf. Also, as a result of their improvements in motor and engine technologies, Toyota has managed to improve the fuel efficiency of the Prius by 10% each year.Toyota Prius
